Sunday Part Deux

I meant to post this earlier, but it got away from me.

This is all that is left of the macarons that we had for dinner on Friday. Sorry. We didn’t think to take a photo of them until it was too late.

After our Montmartre adventures, Dan was feeling a bit iffy, so I went on to the Chocolate Museum. It’s actually called “Choco-Story Paris - Musée du Chocolat.” Mon Dieu. First of all, they greet you with an option of four chocolates: two darks, milk, and white. And throughout the museum, they have dispensers of these wafers. You can eat all you want; they just ask that you don’t fill bags or pockets.

Okay.

I learned several things, the most important of which are that when faced with unlimited chocolate, I do not pull up a chair and eat it all. I am a Big Fine Girl (or as Doug says, a Big Ass Girl). The second is that chocolate grown in different parts of the world taste different from each other. It makes sense; I just never thought about it. The third is that it is possible to make clothes and shoes from chocolate. What?

Dan, on the opposite Metro platform, heading back to the apartment. Like the Big Fine Girl that I am, I was heading out along in Paris, without being able to speak French. Big Fine Girl.

And some historical info:

Here are random photos from earlier...

So. Having learned everything that I could learn about chocolate, I headed to Notre Dame to the Archeological Museum. On the way there, I saw this:

The museum is all about the discovery of the ancient ruins underneath Notre Dame. This occurred when Paris was starting the construction of an underground parking lot in 1968. Thankfully, they decided to keep things as they were found, and they moved the parking lot to the south.

Some photos from the area, as I walked to the Metro (did I mention that I did that by myself?):

Before I sign off, I need to post one random photo. On Saturday, at the Palais Garnier, Pam found a beret to try on, but it had cardboard in it - so this is Pam with her French fascinator. :)
